MAF SENSOR

MAF SENSOR

Device responsible for measuring the amount of air that enters the engine and, therefore, how much oxygen reaches the cylinders with the help of other data such as temperature or air pression in question so that the engine can operate efficiently.

FEATURES

  • Operating with a wide range of temperatures
  • Quick response to changing engine conditions.
  • May, but not always, incorporate intake air temperature sensors

LOCATION

Located in front the engine intake manyfold ant behind the air filter to prevent any impurities from damaging it. In the same way, they are placed there to accurately read the quantity of air the engine takes in. That’s why it is important to keep the seals and ducts of the pipe/ intake manyfold in good condition.

TYPES

As for its external morphology, there are many variants, at Alfa we have flowmeters with or without protective casing.

Generally, when it comes to signals, there are two kinds of flowmeters:

  • Frequency Signal Output: Transforms the frequency airflow level into an electrical signal
  • Voltage Signal Output: Transforms the airflow level into a linear voltage between 0 and 5V.
