COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR

Component which measures the temperature of the engine coolant and inform the engine control unit, ECU, or dashboard.

LOCATION

It is normally located in the thermostat housing or in the cylinder head.

COMMON FAULT SYMPTOMS

  • Corrosion
  • Faulty connections

FAULT EFFECTS

  • Radiator fan does not work or works intermittently
  • Rough idling
  • Increased fuel consumption
  • Difficulty starting the vehicle
